At the end of the day, I see persistence, creativity, and positivity in many band directors for the good of their programs. I hear encouragement, I see collaboration, and feel pride students are taking in their bands.

As directors are responsible for both individual and ensemble growth, developing an awareness for the signs of “rut-tines” and how to get out of them are vital for the band to mature and flourish.
As band programs move forward, it is obvious that the use of pull-out lessons will continue to be part of that process.
Band directors in all grade levels are invited to share information about their pull-out lesson program. The purpose of this survey is to collect information on the use of pull-out lessons given to students as part of an instrumental music education experience. Participation is voluntary.
