PMEA 2025
I am eagerly looking forward to the PMEA Annual In-Service Conference coming up on Thursday and Friday this week (April 10-12). There are plenty of great clinics and concerts over the three days and culminates in performances by the All-State students on Saturday. With the Poconos and the Kalahari Convention Center as the backdrop, it will be a wonderful stage to see friends, reconnect with colleagues, meet new educators from across the Keystone, and gain insight and inspiration as to how you can improve as a musician, educator, and leader.
If you are in attendance, I hope you can join me at 11:00 a.m. on April 11th in the Orange Room for my session “What do the ‘R’s’ in Repertoire Mean to You?”. This introspective discussion examines important “R” words that can aid any director in the selection of music for short and long-term goals for their students. The session hand out can be found here by clicking on this ridiculously long link.
I am also looking forward to hearing from the alumni of Messiah University’s Undergraduate and Graduate programs on their career arc and success in music education. Safe travels to those attending, and best wishes to all music educators making that final push to the end of the school year!
