Kids at Play

Kids at Play is a grade 4 work for high school concert band or wind ensemble.

As the piece unfolds, two main themes begin to “play” across the ensemble undergoing subtle changes in rhythm and range, at times interacting with each other (sometimes getting along, sometimes grudgingly). It is emotionally fun and enjoyable music that takes liberty with the duality in title (while imagining how young children can play with each other around a couple of”themes”, students in our band can do likewise, though the themes are a bit more defined). There are optional solos in piccolo, clarinet 1, alto saxophone, trumpet, and trombone.

Purchase of this work authorizes the buyer to download a complete performance set, non-transferable site license, and performance and broadcast rights for one year from the date of purchase. The purchase also permits for duplication of parts to meet the instrumentation needs of the buyer’s ensemble.
